Hamilton New Zealand Temple

Hamilton, New Zealand

When I was a child, from the age of 3 – 6, I lived just to the left and down the hill from this beautiful Temple.  Though I was young when we left New Zealand, looking at this photo brings back wonderful memories and joyous feelings of my childhood.  The Hamilton Temple was dedicated on April 20, 1958 and I was there.  This beautiful edifice is a Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  To find out more about Temples please visit:

Temple Square

Salt Lake City, Utah

One of my favorite things to do at Christmas time is to go to Temple Square and see the Christmas lights.  It is very moving and draws me closer to my Savior as I reflect on Him and all He did for me!

Tulum, Mexico

Tulum was a very impressive place where the Mayan’s lived along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Tulum was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya, between the 13th and 15th centuries.

Mayan Temple

Tulum, Mexico

As I walked thru Tulum I felt like I had walked back into The Book of Mormon times.  Tulum was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Mayan, between the 13th and 15th centuries.  This is their Temple which is the highest point in Tulum and looks out over the Caribbean Sea.  It is a very picturesque spot.  This particular day it was raining very hard.

The Salt Lake Temple was built by Mormon Pioneers and it took them 40 years to build.  It was announced on July 28, 1847 and dedicated on April 6, 1893.  The pioneers gave so much to build this Temple to their God.  On the outside of the Salt Lake Temple is a gold plaque that says; ‘Holiness to the LORD The House of the LORD’.

Angel Moroni

Salt Lake City, Utah

The Angel Moroni sits on the highest spire of the Salt Lake Temple and is atop most Temples throughout the world.  He is remembered for instructing and guiding the Prophet Joseph Smith to the Gold Plates, which Joseph was then able to translate into what we know today as The Book of Mormon.  As a mortal man, Moroni was the last author in The Book of Mormon and his father was Mormon.

The Salt Lake Temple

Today we went to a friend’s sealing in the Salt Lake Temple.  She and her husband are here from Switzerland and Giulia asked me to take photos of her and Pio at the Temple and at the dinner that evening. I usually don’t do wedding photos, but being they are here for only a week, I decided to do it for them.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day, so before I went into the Temple I walked around it and took some photos of the Temple and the billowing clouds above it.

Isaac Hales

img_0319-80Harmony, Pennsylvania

We spent a number of hours in Harmony, now Oakland, Pennsylvania where the LDS church has reconstructed the area to what it looked like in the 1800’s. This rebuilt home of Isaac & Elizabeth Hales, is where Emma lived and where Joseph Smith arrived to board and work, in 1825.  I found it the perfect place to put my feet up and RELAX!

Greenery & Fence

As we have been driving around the eastern part of the United States, something that stands out is the greenery, it is breath taking!  I love the contrast of color in this photo with the fence and the plants.  A fence similar to this one once surrounded the homestead of Isaac & Elizabeth Hale, which was located on this spot.

Aaronic & Melchizedek

We drove to Harmony, Pennsylvania, known today as Oakland, where The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has a beautiful chapel that houses a Visitor’s Center.  It is new, it wasn’t here the last time we were here.  Just before you enter the Visitor’s Center there are these two statues representing two of the great events that happened in this area, the Restoration of the Aaronic & Melchizedek Priesthood.img_0299-60AARONIC PRIESTHOOD; On May 15, 1829, the Prophet Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery went into the woods not far from where the Visitor’s Center now is, to pray about the importance of baptism.  In answer to their prayer, John the Baptist appeared to them, conferring the Aaronic Priesthood on them and commanding them to baptize each other.  They went down to the Susquehanna River and there Joseph baptized Oliver and Joseph laid his hands on the head of Oliver and ordained him to the Aaronic Priesthood and then Oliver did the same to Joseph.

MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD; We don’t know when the Melchizedek Priesthood was restored, but it was shortly after the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood.

Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple

Enlight1ab40Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

After a wonderful time in Philadelphia, we started for our hotel, when my husband drove around the Temple so I could get this lovely night shot! The Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be dedicated September 18, 2016.

Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be dedicated on September 18, 2016. We had the opportunity to go thru the open house. It is a beautiful Temple built with reminders of the city where it sits, Philadelphia. As you enter the foyer there is a beautiful painting of our Savior Jesus Christ, in the frame, above the Savior are two gills, reminding us of the sacred and important papers that were signed in this great city!  To the right is another painting of Benjamin Franklin signing the Declaration of Independence.

Logan Temple

Logan, Utah

The Logan Temple holds significance in our family, because Craig’s family members helped build it. It was dedicated on May 17, 1884 and built by some who had been pioneer’s walking across the plains. It sits majestically on a hill in Logan. The Logan Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Surrounded by Palm Trees

IMG_5079Kona, Hawaii, Hawaii

I LOVE the setting of this Temple, it is gorgeous surrounded by Palm Trees.  We spent some time in Kona in 2016 and I was able to take this photo.  The Kona Temple was dedicated on January 23, 2000 and is one of 155 Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where it’s members are married not just ‘until death do they part’, but for Time and All Eternity!  FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!!
